The Governance
The Sovereign Council of Lords assists the Grand Master in the Government
of the Order.
The members of the Sovereign Council, excluding the Grand Master and the
Deputy Grand Master
are elected by the Chapter General by a majority of those present.
This council usually consist of either nobles or royals.
The members of the Sovereign Council of Lords remain in office for two year
terms and may be re-elected. For a third or further consecutive re-election to the same
position a two-thirds majority of votes of those present is required .
